TeBeau Takes New York

TeBeau Travels: Beaufield and Terrence Take on NYC!

Welcome, fellow wine-loving travelers, to another exciting adventure with TeBeau Travels! Today, we find ourselves in the bustling heart of New York City, ready to explore the culinary delights, cultural gems, and sip on some fantastic wines. So grab a glass, buckle up, and let's embark on this journey!

Destination: Lower East Side

Our base for this trip is the vibrant Lower East Side, known for its trendy vibe, eclectic eateries, and vibrant nightlife. We've found the perfect boutique hotel that blends comfort and style, making it an ideal choice for couples like us who appreciate a little luxury. Plus, it's conveniently located near some of the city's hottest spots!

Foodie Paradise: Via Carota and Buvette

No trip to New York City is complete without indulging in some unforgettable culinary experiences. And lucky for us, we stumbled upon two absolute gems! Our first stop is Via Carota, an Italian trattoria that has gained quite a reputation for its rustic dishes and incredible flavors.

We were blown away by the cozy ambiance, with dim lighting and a lively atmosphere. The menu is a delightful mix of classic Italian dishes and inventive creations, all made with love and passion. The wine selection was extensive, offering a wide range of Italian wines to perfectly complement our meal. The highlight? The burrata! Creamy, dreamy, and absolutely divine.

Our second culinary adventure led us to Buvette, a charming French bistro with an intimate atmosphere and a menu that will make your taste buds dance with joy. The food here is a celebration of all things French, with an emphasis on simple, high-quality ingredients. We couldn't resist ordering a charcuterie board, which paired beautifully with a glass of crisp Chablis. Pro tip: Leave some room for their delectable desserts; you won't be disappointed!

Wine-tastic Tip: When dining out, don't hesitate to ask the servers or sommeliers for wine recommendations. They often have insider knowledge and can suggest the perfect pairing for your meal.

Culture Vultures: Whitney Museum and Hadestown

No trip is complete without a dose of culture, and New York City never disappoints. Our first stop was the iconic Whitney Museum of American Art. Housing a stunning collection of contemporary American works, the museum is a haven for art enthusiasts. From thought-provoking exhibitions to breathtaking views of the city from their outdoor terraces, the Whitney is a must-visit for any art lover.

After immersing ourselves in the vibrant art scene, we headed to the theater district to catch a show. And what better choice than the Tony Award-winning musical, Hadestown? This modern retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is a feast for the senses. The soulful music, captivating performances, and breathtaking set design left us completely spellbound.

Travel Tip: When visiting museums or theaters, consider booking tickets in advance to secure your spot, especially during peak seasons. This way, you can save time and ensure you don't miss out on the best experiences.

The Perfect Pairing

As avid wine enthusiasts, we couldn't resist indulging in a wine-tasting experience tailored to our taste buds. We discovered a hidden gem called Corkbuzz Wine Studio, where we participated in a guided tasting that took us on a journey through various wine regions. It was educational, entertaining, and, most importantly, delicious! If you're a wine lover like us, this is an absolute must-do in the city.

And there you have it, our fellow wine-loving wanderers! Our adventure in the Big Apple, filled with delectable bites, unforgettable cultural experiences, and,

of course, plenty of fantastic wines. New York City truly offers something for everyone, and for couples in their 35-45 age range who crave wine, travel, and culture, it's an absolute playground.

Until our next adventure, keep exploring, sipping, and laughing along the way. Cheers to TeBeau Travels!

Safe travels,

Beaufield Berry and Sommelier Terrence Dougherty
